Bio

Short — one line

Christopher Dean is the bassist and production manager for Prong on Napalm Records.

Medium — 60 words

Christopher Dean plays bass and runs production for Prong. Before that he spent 200+ shows as Nita Strauss's bassist through a #1 Active Rock campaign, about a hundred nights with Michale Graves of the Misfits, and tech'd guitars on Demi Lovato's HOLY FVCK. He has a signature pickup with 916 Pickups and wrote the Dead Sea Scales method series.

Long

Twenty-nine years playing, thirteen touring. Currently bass, backing vocals and tour and production manager for Prong, whose self-titled album arrives on Napalm Records in November 2026, mixed by Andy Sneap. Festival stages from Wacken Open Air and Brutal Assault to Aftershock, plus the Metallica M72 weekend at MetLife Stadium.

Off stage he builds what he plays. Ten years of prototyping with 916 Pickups produced the Miner, his signature humbucker, now a catalogue product. He publishes Neural Amp Modeler captures of his touring rig for free, and wrote Dead Sea Scales: The 5 Missing Notes, a fretboard method with more than 400 original diagrams, which he has taught from for fourteen years.
